The feast of the Glorious first of June

In which we describe a most delectable feast, prepared with much care by a coterie of dedicated cooks in honour both of that most auspicious date, June 1st, where we celebrate the gallantry of British tars over those rapscallion French revolutionaries in Lord Howe's most dashing victory in the battle of The Glorious First Of June. , and furthermore that we should have a most productive and delightful discussion on the works of that well known author PATRICK O'BRIAN, a man to whom we are all most indebted for many engrossing novels.

We did proceed to procure the work "Lobscouse and Spotted Dog: Which It's a Gastronomic Companion to the Aubrey/Maturin Novels" by the authoresses Anne Chotzinoff Grossman and Lisa Grossman Thomas, as well as both the finest of ingredients and the finest of wines. And upon the 2nd of June Anno Domini 2007 we did then proceed to prepare such a feast as would truly give justice to such a noble anniversery.

In which we expound further upon the affair and display many photographic reproductions of the procedings
